In November 1994, Phoenix Mecano AG, decided to include in the sphere of its global networks, the land of plenty, India. Phoenix Mecano (India) Ltd. was established in Mumbai to source products for Phoenix Mecano's global sourcing operations and to market products of the Phoenix Mecano enclosure and mechanical division. Soon the high quality and sophisticated Phoenix Mecano products were creating waves in the Indian Market and Phoenix Mecano (India) Ltd. saw itself as one of the leaders in a cut throat competition. With an increase in demand for Phoenix Mecano products, came the need to integrate manufacturing in the company. This paved the way for a state of the art manufacturing facility, which was started at Pirangut, Pune in the year 2004.
The products manufactured in India meet the exacting standards of the Group companies. While catering to the requirements of the domestic market, these products are also exported to the parent company in Germany as well as to markets in Singapore, USA, China and Sharjah.
Dr. J Metzger - Chairman of board of Directors of Phoenix Mecano (India) Limited since 1994 and the board member of the executive committee of directors of Phoenix Mecano AG. Switzerland since 1992. Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering and P.H.D. in Economics. Dr Metzger has worked with Authur Anderson, Hamburg Germany for 5 years as an auditor and 4 years as a management consultant. He later moved on to AMP Germany to lead their material management department. He joined Phoenix Mecano AG. in 1989 and has since then been associated with various group comapnies as the Managing Director till he finnally joined Phoenix Mecano AG. board as the person responsible for Asian operations.
Mr S. K. Shukla - Managing Director, has industrial experience of seven years in the Mechanical component industry. Qualified as a Mechanical engineering graduate has spent 2 years in production, 3 years in Sales & Marketing and distribution channel development for the company. Since 2003 he has been responsible for the performance of the Mechanical component division of the company and took over as the Managing Director in 2006.
Mr S. M. Tungare - Director, a qualified Chartered Accountant of 1964 batch, he started his career in Siemens as a Management Trainee-Accounts. During his tenure he was leading various financial posts in Siemen's India at its Corporate office, regional office etc. and retired from Osram India, a subsidiary of Siemens AG, as VP Finance and Personnel.
Mr A. K. Shrivastava - Director, a bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Jabalpur college of engineering, he joined Siemens in 1960 as a Management Trainee in production and moved over the years to be the Manager of a Siemens group company. Later on he moved his focus to sales and became the G. M. Sales at Siemens India. He was for 5 years at the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce advising German Business units in India.
